Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Review
The year was 2004, Motorola launched its one of the costliest flip phone named Moto Razr and after some days Samsung came with its flip phone to challenge the Moto Razr. Just like this, Samsung launched its foldable phone Samsung Galaxy Z flip this year after the launch of the newly launched foldable Moto Razr.
This phone now rocks a folding AMOLED full HD display which measures 6.7 inches which has a very thin glass layer on it which is protected by a plastic film. The feel of the display is much robust than that of the screen of the Moto Razr. Still, it’s a fragile display and can get easily scratched or can break. Samsung knows about that and that’s why they are giving the 1st screen replacement free and after that, you have to pay $300 to replace the 2nd time you break the display.
But a phone which costs $1400 is going to get some really good care from the owners (I believe). When you close the device you get another screen at the outside. But it’s a tiny one and has a 1.1-inch size. This display work as a notification viewer and a tiny viewfinder while taking a selfie with the rear cameras.
The phone now has a greater hinge mechanism than the previously launched galaxy fold. The hinge now small brushed inside it to prevent the dust from getting inside. The hinge feels premium while opening and closing but I think Moto Razr’s hinge is snappier than this. The hinge is built to give you greater control at every position. You can fold the display and can keep it in a laptop like fashion where you can make use of some of the application that built to work in this position like the camera.
Coming to the camera it has 12MP f/1.8 primary with OIS, 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle and a front camera which a resolution of 10 megapixels with an aperture of f/2.4. You can’t expect flagship-level performance from this camera. It is above average and performs way better than the Moto Razr’s camera.
Coming to the inside this thing is packing last year flagship snapdragon 855+ processor. It has 8 GB of DDR4 memory(RAM) and 256 GB of UFS 3.0 storage which means you are going to get some pretty high read and write speed. The battery inside is split into two halves. Each half is situated at each part of the device. The total capacity is 3400 mah.
